A farmstead becomes a home on the restored prairie near Nerstrand, Minnesota. Built by River City Builders, this home was featured on the cover of Architecture Minnesota. Designed by architects Christine Albertson and Todd Hanse and built by River City Builders, this Scandinavian farm home has white pine floors, custom crafted millwork, generous shelving and storage, furniture style cabinets and cupboard storage. Although modest and simple in appearance the workmanship is exacting, design lines are precise, and the setting is peaceful.

River City Builders teamed up with architect Albertsson-Hansen to build a retreat in the wooded hills of Cannon Falls, Minnesota. The homeowners contributed design ideas for inspiration. Elements included whitewashed beams, panel walls, recessed wooden ceilings, and unique and special cabinetry for storing treasures collected over years of travel.
